SHILLONG: UPSC cracker from the State, Dukini Kyndiah, had no time for social networking sites like Facebook or even WhatsApp as she devoted around 10-12 hours each day for Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2015 preparations.
Kyndiah, who secured 1043th position in the UPSC examination, revealed this during a felicitation programme organised in her honour by a vernacular daily at Mawkhar Christian Higher Secondary School, here on Saturday.
Talking to media persons Kyndiah said that she was not satisfied with her ranking and resolved to compete once again.
Kyndiah, who took up coaching at a study centre in Delhi, asserted that people from the State can compete at any level if they are determined to work hard for the target.
She made the cut while competing with 9.70 lakh candidates in the preliminary round of the exams, while in the mains, she was one of the nearly 16000 candidates in fray.
She informed that a total of 2,800 candidates appeared for the personal interview.
The plight of the people, especially those from the rural areas of the state, motivated Kyndiah to go for Civil Services with an aim to make a difference to their lives.
Kyndiah urged the students to be dedicated and hardworking to achieve success.
