SHILLONG: A female student was alleged molested while a pupil was not allowed a break to come home to attend to her sick father.
These are among the several charges the five students leveled against the Kolkata based Minerva Institute of Medical Technology which had fled.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, the students who attended the institute with a hope of getting placement alleged that the remaining students there were asked to sign on a blank paper on Monday.
Narrating their plight, a student claimed that a female student was molested by a staff of the institute recently. However, she chose to remain silent.
The students also complained about the irregular classes and the quality of training imparted in the institute. The students further alleged that courses ranging from radiology to yoga and pharmacy listed in the prospectus were not available at the institute.
Agnes Kharshiing, CSWO president said that the students should not have been forced to stay when they did not wish to.
“The institute has tie-up with the State Government with promises of providing placement to the students,” she added.
It may be reminded that the boys fled from the institute on Sunday morning.
