JHADC issues Sanad to 108 headmen

JOWAI: The Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) has on Friday distributed 108 Sanad (appointment letters) to headmen of various villages in East and West Jaintia Hills.
A grand function was organized at the District Library Auditorium, Jowai for distribution of Sanad to the headmen. PWD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar attended the function as the chief guest. Legislators including Justine Dkhar and Stephanson Mukhim and JHADC chief Thombor Shiwat, Deputy Chief A.A. Shullai and Chairman Arborhima Darnei, besides MDCs and officers of the Administrative department of the district council, attended the function.
President of the Ka Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong ka Bri U Hynniewtrep, W. Kharshiing was also present on the occasion.
The JHADC chief informed that all the headmen in Jaintia Hills are being provided with a Sanad for identification as the Waheh Shnong (headmen).
The PWD minister lauded the efforts of the JHADC in empowering the headmen and advised them to function as per the Village Administration Act.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Stephanson Mukhim, Justine Dkhar and W. Kharshiing.
