SHILLONG: One person died on the spot while another sustained grievous injuries when they were struck by lightning in Umroi, Ri-Bhoi on Tuesday.
The lightning struck at Madan Umroi, Lumsohlang, killed Kyntiew Shadap on the spot, while Aibanroi Makri sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment.
