LM Sangma retires

SHILLONG: The Special Secretary, Law L.M Sangma retired on Thursday after serving the department for 28 years. It was after serving the Survey of Meghalaya that Sangma joined the Law department in 1988.
Sangma, born on May 29, 1958 in the nondescript Memillam village in North Garo Hills was the first Special Secretary of Law department from the Garo Community.  It was during his tenure that the separation of Executive and Judiciary was effected in the State and the High Court of Meghalaya was inaugurated.
