SHILLONG: A two-day workshop on documenting community life was organised by NESFAS from Wednesday. The programme was attended by the chairman of NESFAS, Phrang Roy and the participants of the ITM 2015 from around North East India of the participatory video program.
The Participatory video has helped the community to be change makers from their village to inspire nationally and globally. It is not training for citizen journalist or even to be a video activist. It has however brought a certain aspect of innovation for people to share their stories in front of the camera. In which the stories are documented by the community and the neighbors of the village to share together to highlight the diversity among their community. They learn as a group to help to analyze and identify issues in their communities by building various games and exercises to build confidence as they plan and shoot their films.
