Protest against 7th Central Pay Commission

SHILLONG: In response to the call of Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, New Delhi against the recommendations of the 7th pay commission, the postal employees of N. E. Circle observed mass demonstration programme on Thursday. The employees threatened more agitations in the days to come.
In a statement, the employees said that the protest was against the retrograde recommendation of 7th central pay commission and subsequent acceptance by the Government  rejecting all the major modifications including change in minimum pay and fitment  formula recommended by the 7th central pay commission sought by the National Joint Council of Action comprising of Railway, Defence, and Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi.
The postal employees observed the demonstration programme in front of Shillong GPO. The leaders called upon other central government employees to join them  on July 11 from 6 am for indefinite strike.
Meanwhile, the executive meeting of Co ordination Committee of Central Government Employees & Workers, Meghalaya held on Friday at the Shillong GPO also decided to hold a massive rally of central government employees on July 5 at 1 pm at GPO complex.
