Hawkers body extends support to counterparts in city, outside

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya and Greater Shillong Progressive Hawkers and Street Vendors Association has extended its support to hawkers at Laitumkhrah and Polo in the city besides those in Nongpoh and Jowai and appealed them to join the association. In a statement issued here the association said, “The public feels  that we have added to the congestion and the filth but we request them to empathize with us.” The association felt that there is a need to unite with the poor sections of the people and to bring about a better future.
