Party leaders including David Kharsati, Bashailang Khongwir, Sumita Banerjee, K.M. Basaiawmoit and Basu Chakraborty spoke about the contribution of late Rangad, who according to them was a true nationalist and crusader against corruption.
The members recalled how he introduced transparency in the MLA scheme by publishing regular booklets. The members also remembered how money meant for the people was spent on various developmental activities by the late leader.
The party members also recalled how Rangad demonstrated his patriotism by walking all the way from Laban to Polo Grounds carrying the National Flag to participate in the Independence Day and Republic Day functions, challenging the bandh called by the HNLC.
