Demand for withdrawal of UCIL tender

SHILLONG: The Shilliang Um People’s Development Forum (SPDF) has demanded the Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) to withdraw its recent tender notice published in newspapers on July 2 for construction of an open pit mine, processing plant and others for mining uranium at Mawthabah in South West Khasi Hills. The Forum also urged locals to oppose any move to mine uranium in the area.
