HYC meet
The Hynniewtrep Youths Council (HYC) Dangar Balat Border Circle(DBBC), in a meeting held recently at Pyndendiengjri has confirmed the members of the first unit of the organization under Pyndensohsaw-Nongthymmai Area Unit with Synshar Kharlyngdoh as president, Yantis Thongni as vice president and Risingstar Sohmat as general secretary and others. The meeting was attended by members of the Seng Kynthei Pynden-sohsaw, Headman Diralson Dkhar and members of the HYC central body.
Inter Shillong cultural meet
Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban on Sunday had organised a marathon, art, essay and quiz written round competition as part of the 9th Inter Shillong Cultural Meet, 2016 at Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School, a statement issued here informed. The quiz final round will be held on July 17 along with other competition including recitations in English, Bengali at Raid Laban Sports, Socio and Cultural Organization Auditorium, Bishnupur.
Poetry book released
A poetry book entitled Barak Tampakki Maraibak written Moirangthem Satyabati was released by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad at a function held at Phunga Restaurant, Laitumkhrah, on Sunday. The function was presided over by Yengkhom K. B, president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Meghalaya. The author is a lifetime member of the Parishad and this is her second book on poetry and fourth book overall. There are sixty-three poems in the book. The author who is a resident of Jiribam, Manipur was absent during the function and was represented by Anita Ngashepam, life member of the Parishad, a release issued here informed.
