Queen Latifah insists that “racism is still alive and kicking”. The actress and rapper, 46, was being celebrated at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, and took the opportunity to speak out following the recent shootings of two black men in the US, reported Digital spy. In the wake of the deaths, five police officers were killed after a man opened fire near a peaceful protest in Dallas. “Listen we all know the world, that our world, is really tense right now,” Latifah said. “There’s a lot of tension, there’s a lot of angst, there’s a lot of hurt, a lot of pain. I’m hoping that we can somehow manage to channel all of these emotions that we have in a positive way, and really do something to change our world.” She continued, “I don’t care how much I have, or Puff (Daddy) has, or Missy (Elliott) has, the ladies have.” (PTI)
