Theft cases going out of control in city

SHILLONG: Thieves are having a field day in the city with a large number of cases being reported from across the city in recent times.
Theft cases top the crime charts in the city with no proactive steps being taken by the Police department to contain the crimes.
On Thursday morning, residents of Lumshyiap Nongmynsong, apprehended one Raju Thapa while he was breaking the window glass of one Maruti Esteem (ML 09 5778) belonging to Sandeep Sunar in the locality.
He was handed over to Police at Nongmynsong.
The same day, unknown miscreants stole one dumper truck (NL 02 N 4187) from Lad Smit.
Another incident was reported in the city where unknown miscreants stole Rs 15,000 cash and a gold necklace weighing one tola from the residence of Tipsyful Hynniewta at Lumshngain Rynjah, Shillong.
