Boxing coaching camp to be held on July 22

Shillong: The Directorate, Sports &Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya will launch the “Learn to Box, Be a Champ “on July 22 at the Indoor Sports Hall in Mawlai Mawroh at 4.30pm.
The free boxing coaching camp will be imparted for the age group of 12 to 16 years for both Boys  and Girls within East Khasi Hills.
Interested participants can get full details of the event at the office of District Sports Officer, J N Stadium in Polo during office hours or contact 986313325.

Tura Football League from September

TURA: The date for Tura Football League 2016 was announced on Monday by the District Football Association (DFA). The tournament will begin from first week of September and the last date for registration of new clubs and renewal of existing clubs is July 29.
The month long tournament which has three categories- the Super Division, Division-A and Division-B gives a platform for soccer talents of West Garo Hills and the tournament will be held at Dikki Bandi Stadium, Dakopgre.
Last year’s title winners were Boca Junior Club (Super Division) and BSF Meghalaya Frontier (Division-A). “Newly registered football clubs will also be allowed to take part in the tournament under the Division – B category”, said Gino Sangma, secretary, DFA.
