Thief held, stolen item recovered

SHILLONG: Police arrested one person for stealing a gold locket worth Rs 13,000 from a residence at Nongmynsong and also recovered the stolen item.
On Tuesday, a complaint was received from one Naina Chettri of Nongmynsong that on  July 13 she found that her gold locket was missing from inside an almirah in her house.
Nongmynsong police immediately took up investigation and arrested one habitual offender Raju Dorjee.
Folowing his confession, the stolen gold locket was recovered and seized from the possession of one Neelu Sunar of Naspatighari, Shillong, who had purchased the stolen item.
Police recovered Rs 220 from the possession of the accused who had already spent the remaining amount on buying drugs.
