SHILLONG: The Mothers Federation, East Garo Hills has yet again expressed concern over the unavailability of a matron and assistant matron in Williamnagar Civil Hospital which is causing immense difficulties to the people of the area.
The NGO had submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Mukul Sangma in this regard earlier in the year but despite assurance from the latter to address the issue within three months no action has been taken till date.
The federation also alleged that doctors in the hospital give a slip to the night shift without fail and have to be called from the quarters in case of emergency.
The Mothers’ Federation along with different NGOs urged the Chief Minister and the Social Welfare Minister to look into the matter at the earliest.
