SHILLONG: The State Government is keen to fill up the over 280 vacant posts of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) in Meghalaya at the earliest.
Informing this here on Friday, Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek said that he has already directed the department to advertise the vacant posts.
“We want to fill up the posts immediately as it becomes difficult to run any organization smoothly without adequate manpower,” Hek said.
Earlier, the GNM nurses had alleged that the GNM passed out students were appointed directly against the sanctioned/vacant posts and that they wanted the same yardstick to be applied for the different batches (2010-2012) as well.
