Two NEEPCO officials secure anticipatory bail

SHILLONG:  The District and Session Court has granted anticipatory bail to two out of three officers of NEEPCO against whom the former Chief Vigilance Officer of the Corporation Satish Chandra Verma had filed a series of FIRs.
According to official sources, the court granted anticipatory bail to former CMD PC Pankaj, and Director (Personnel) SB Borgohain after the duo approached the court for the same.  When contacted, police said that the matter is under investigation
Verma  had  lodged complaints against three senior officials of the corporation for allegedly extorting money from his subordinate Abhishek Kumar, Manager (HR), NEEPCO and preventing him (Verma) from discharging his duties. The third official against whom a complaint was lodged is PK Jaiswal.
