SHILLONG: The UDP, while welcoming the recent decision of the State Cabinet to approve the amendment to ensure prompt declaration of results of interviews conducted by the District Selection Committees, said on Sunday that there is a need to have more transparency in the recruitment process.
UDP vice president Allantry Dkhar pointed out that there was a suggestion by party legislator Paul Lyngdoh in the Assembly during his last tenure that interviews by MPSC and DSCs should be video graphed.
According to Dkhar, the move will ensure increased transparency in the recruitment process.
The UDP leader reminded that recently a petition was filed in the High Court by a job applicant after an alleged malpractice in the interview process of MPSC.
“If the government would have followed the suggestion of Lyngdoh, the case would not have come up in the court,” Dkhar said.
The UDP leader said that the party had the transparent recruitment process agenda in its manifesto for the 2013 Assembly elections.
