Tributes paid to Kalam

SHILLONG:  The Shillong Muslim Union on Wednesday organised a Quran recitation on Wednesday to mark the first death anniversary of former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The Quran recitation was held at the premises of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Islamic Library and Information Centre, Madina Mosque, Laban.
Meanwhile, the Agastya International Foundation, a non-profit charitable trust that seeks to stimulate and transform the thinking of economically disadvantaged children, conducted an exhibition on the life of (L) Dr APJ Abdul Kalam to  pay  tribute to him at the Sunny Dale Higher Secondary School here on Wednesday.
Students from Sunny Dale School participated in the event. Some of late DR Kalam’s inspirational quotes were also displayed on the occasion. Students from Glakyn School, Laitumkhrah Presbyterian School and Mizo Modern School also attended the programme
