State police buys 13 vehicles for NH security

SHILLONG: In its bid to make the national highways more safe and secure, Meghalaya police has procured 13 vehicles for patrolling duty along the highways passing through the state.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Director General of Police SK Jain said that the department has started the pre-delivery inspection and they are likely to take over the vehicles in the next couple of days.
According to Jain, the department is planning to deploy the   vehicles from August.
The vehicles will be fitted with speed guns devices to measure the speed of moving vehicles besides alcometers for detecting   cases of drunken driving.
