Fake FIR
In connection with the filing of an FIR by one Karuna Sindhu Ghosh against members of KSU, Laitumkhrah Unit at Laitumkhrah PS, the former lodged a complaint that an unknown person forged his signature and submitted a fake FIR to DC, East Khasi Hills alleging that members of KSU Laitumkhrah Unit picked him up from Laitumkhrah Bazar and took him to their office at Laitumkhrah, where on being demanded Rs. 5 lakh, he paid Rs. 1 lakh after negotiation.
Suicide
Nasar Marwein, Rangbah Shnong, Umsur village (SWKH) lodged a complaint that one unidentified person committed suicide by hanging himself near Umsur river.
Fraudulent withdrawal of money
One Kumar Rabha, Secretary, Hot Spring Farmers’ Association, Resubelpara, Bakrapara (North Garo Hills) lodged a complaint that unknown miscreants fraudulently withdrew Rs. 18,000 from the office of Meghalaya State Social Welfare Board, which was sanctioned to the association.
Scooty stolen
On August 31, miscreants stole one scooty (AS-01BG-5612) belonging to one Tonember Khumlo from her residence at Pillangkata (Ri-Bhoi).
Four-year-old knocked down
On August 31 at around 12.30 pm, one Maruti local taxi (ML-05K-4012) knocked down one minor boy namely Gautam Roy (4) at Laban. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Scooty rider injured
On August 31 at around 8.30 pm, one Maruti local taxi (ML-05K-7631) driven by Ratan Boro dashed against a Scooty (ML-05J-6743) ridden by Albert Ralte (21) at Sawlad Madanrting, Shillong. As a result, the Scooty rider sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
One drowned
On August 30 evening, one Kyrshan Rani drowned while fishing at Langsaw River near Umsning (RB). On August 31 morning, his body was fished out and handed over to relatives.
Minor rape victim escapes with injuries
A person lodged a complaint that on August 28, one Kesil G Momin went to his house at Dawa Matchakolgre, Williamnagar (East Garo Hills), asked about his (complainant’s) sixteen-year-old daughter, harassed them and threatened them with dire consequences. On August 29 at around 4 am, the accused abducted and raped his (complainant) daughter. However, the girl managed to escape with injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital Williamnagar.
Threat
A woman Sowerli Suting lodged a complaint that on August 28 at around 7.30 pm, a group of people led by Chibun Lipon pelted stones at her house at Pynthorlangtein village (West Jaintia Hills) and threatened her and family members with dire consequences. As a result, the house was damaged. However, Lipon lodged a complaint that on August 25 & 27, Sowerli Suting threatened him and his family members with dire consequences.
Body of 73-year-old found hanging
One Pynskhemborlang Marngar lodged an FIR that on August 26, one Brightstar Diengdoh (73) went missing from his residence at Mawiambei, Umiam (Ri-Bhoi). Later, his body was found hanging in a forest in the village.
