Army chief reviews Assam security

Guwahati: The Chief of the Army Staff, General Dalbir Singh, was on a visit to GOC 4 Corps (Gajraj Corps) at Tezpur in Assam as part of his visits to various formations of the Army, to review their operational readiness and the internal security situation, a Defence spokesman here informed.
The Army Chief was briefed by Lt General D Anbu, GOC of the Gajraj Corps on the security situation in Assam. The General who was on a two days since September 5 was accompanied by Lt General Praveen Bakshi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command.
Singh expressed his satisfaction on the conduct of operations by the Army in  bringing the insurgency situation under control.
Singh also reviewed the defence preparedness of Gajraj Corps as it is deployed on the line of Actual Control on the eastern frontier.
