Taxi driver held with liquor
Police has  arrested the driver of a tourist taxi  transporting country-made liquor at Umroi. On Thursday, police detected one tourist taxi (ML-05M-8754) driven by Karmos Kharphuli while transporting over 300  litres of country-made liquor belonging to one Arbilin Thabah at Umroi (Ri Bhoi). Police arrested the driver and seized the consignment.
Rs 1.8 lakh stolen from police reserve
IMiscreants managed to steal Rs 1, 80,000 from inside the police reserve in East Garo Hills. The incident happened on the night of September 5,   when unknown miscreants broke into the Dry Canteen at Police Reserve, Williamnagar and stole cash worth Rs. 1, 80,000.
Threat
A woman  identified as Laity Khlem lodged a complaint that on September 7 at around 10 pm, one  Miki Khlem broke the door of her house at Chnong Chyrmang Wah village (West Jaintia Hills) and also threatened her family members with dire consequences.
Road mishap kills driver
The driver of an oil tanker succumbed to his injuries after his vehicle collided with another truck at Ialong village in West Jaintia Hills. Police said that the incident happened on September 4, when one oil tanker (AS-01DC-7300) driven by Raju Sinha dashed against one truck (WB-41G-5218) at Ialong village.  In the incident, the driver of the oil tanker sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Jowai and later to a hospital at Guwahati, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Minor taken out without consent
A woman identified as  Shidalin Law of Barato village (East Jaintia Hills) lodged a complaint that on September  6 at around 6 pm, her husband namely, Moorah Modh took her minor son  Mupsin Law without her consent to his native village at Somorali No. 7, Murajar, Nagaon, Assam.
