SHILLONG: The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) awareness campaign cum workshop was held at Don Bosco Youth Centre in Laitumkhrah on Thursday.
Various aspects of the scheme, including hands on online training to the LPG Distributors for effective implementation of the scheme, were discussed at length during the meeting.
The PMUY scheme is aimed at providing free LPG connection to people below the poverty line on the basis of SECC-2011 data. Speaking on the occasion, Iona R Sangma, IAS, Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, appreciated the efforts taken by oil marketing companies and assured full support of the State government to ensure success of the Yojana in the State.
Others who attended the meeting include Sourav Chaliha, Chief Area Manager, Guwahati Indane Area Office, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, S.S Thangkhiew, senior Manager (RS), Guwahati Divisional Office, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Manish Kumar Sah, Assistant Manager (LPG-Sales), Shillong Sales Area, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd along with all the District Nodal Officers (DNOs) as well as LPG distributors of the State.
