Flagging off ceremony
The office of the SP, East Khasi Hills has informed that the flagging off ceremony of highway patrol vehicles will be held at 4.30 pm at Police Headquarter on September 15. Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will be present on the occasion.
Super specialty OPD
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong has informed that there will be a super specialty OPDs at Civil Hospital, Shillong on September 20 from 10:00 am. Specialist doctors from Apollo Gleaneagles Hospital, Kolkata will be available for consultation. Registration can be done in Orthopaedic Counter, Civil Hospital or online at http://ors.gov.in.
Golden Jubilee
The Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai will celebrate its Golden Jubilee on September 17 on the College premises. Deputy Chief Minister R.C Laloo will be the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Exhibition
The Department of Chemistry, Sankardev College organized an exhibition on Wednesday entitled, “Your waste-My Space”, displaying products made of waste materials. Various items made from plastic including plastic bottles designed and decorated to be used as pencil/pen stand, brooms, hats made from plastic threads, vacuum cleaner made from plastic bottles, etc were displayed during the exhibition.
Office bearers
Shillong Rangsa Mahari Association in its annual general meeting held on September 13 discussed at length ways and means to strengthen the Rangsa Clan of Shillong besides taking up resolutions. The meeting also elected its office bearers for the year 2016-18 with George R. Marak name dthe president, Manseng Ch. Momin the vice president, and K R. Marak as the general secretary among others.
Awareness programme
The office of the Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills, Khliehriat will organise an awareness programme under the Chief Minister’s Career Guidance & Counseling Programme for candidates who have applied for various posts in the Police Department. The awareness programme will be conducted Khliehriat West Community Hall on September 21 and 22. A similar programme will also be held at Umkiang on September 24.
