JOWAI: One Leonard Phawa of Mookyrdup Jowai was seriously injured when his wife, Lemi Shylla along with her friends assaulted him. He was left on the side of the road to die, police said.
Phawa, was later rushed to Jowai District Hospital, Lalong by some passersby where the doctor referred him to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong as his condition was serious. According to police, the victim is still in a coma.
In another incident, a 23-year- old woman of Khliehsniriang lodged a complaint with the Jowai police, that one Dawat Bareh (18) verbally abused her and also attempted to rape her. Police sources informed (Contd on P-10)
