Manager accused of embezzlement
Obilet Tariang lodged a complaint that one Hitesh Bordoloi, General Manager, Hotel Poinisuk, Laitumkhrah, Shillong misappropriated Rs. 9 lakh received from various customers and travel agencies.
Accidental shooting
In a shocking incident, unknown hunters accidentally shot one person leading to his injuries. Police said that the incident happened on Thursday when one Phirson Iawphniaw (50) of Nongnah, South West Khasi Hills was accidentally shot in the lower abdomen by unknown hunters while he was fishing at Phudlyngon river. Victim was moved to NEIGRIHMS.
NGT order violation
Police on Thursday detected one truck transporting coal in violation of NGT order. On September 22 around 5.30 pm, one truck (AS-01-DD-5721) transporting coal without valid documents and in violation of NGT order near Umtyra Check Post in East Jaintia Hills was detected by the police. However, the driver managed to escape.
Bangladeshi nationals arrested
Police on Wednesday apprehended four Bangladeshis in South Garo Hills district. On September 21, police apprehended four Bangladesh nationals Juel Ch Sangma (30), Runash M Sangma (26), Dishto M Sangma (27) and a 14-year-old boy at Sibbari.
