Endowment lecture
Women’s College, Shillong is organizing the Eighth Pundit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar National Endowment Lecture on September 26 at 12:30 PM by Professor Dhruba Jyoti Saikia, Vice Chancellor, Cotton College State University, Guwahati  on the theme ‘Light from the Universe’. Padmashree Manas Chaudhuri will be the chairperson on the occasion.
Debate competition
The 4th J. J. M. Nichols Roy Memorial Inter College Debate Competition organized by Shillong Commerce College was held on September 24. The topic for the debate was “Meghalaya has tapped its tourism potential to the optimum”. The winners of the competition was Shillong Commerce College while St. Mary’s College was adjudged the runners up. The best speaker award went to Balajied K. Nongbsap of Shillong Commerce College and the second best speaker was bagged by Jessica Kharkongor of St. Mary’s College. The most humorous speaker award  went to Karnadev Rabha of Sankerdev College.
