Weeklong cleanliness programme begins in Upper New Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN: The weeklong “Clean Upper New Nongstoin” campaign launched by the Sengsamla Shnong Upper New Nongstoin in collaboration with the Swacch Bharat Mission, West Khasi Hills was inaugurated with a mini marathon on Monday.   A large number of residents participated in the run to create awareness among people to improve health and sanitation conditions in the village which lies in the heart of Nongstoin. L.G. Nongsiej local MDC and the residents of Upper New Nongstoin flagged off the mini marathon and declared the weeklong programme open. The programme will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
