SHILLONG: Police suspect suicide angle in the unnatural death of a woman (58) whose body was recovered from a river in Mawlai area on Tuesday.
The body of the woman, who went missing from her house in Mawlai locality on Saturday, was found in the river on Monday night and it was recovered on Tuesday morning. SP (City) Vivek Syiem said that the woman identified as Bibiana Jyrwa has not been keeping well for long. “Though it appears to be suicide, we have registered a case of unnatural death,” Syiem said.
He added that the ornaments she wore were intact.
