CM talks tough after KV rape

SHILLONG: A day after the principal in-charge and a teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Tura were arrested for allegedly raping two students of the school, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said there would be no letup in investigation against those accused of committing crime against women and children.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Sangma said police and other government agencies are committed to end crime against women and children and that charge-sheets have been filed in majority of cases. “We have put a robust mechanism to see that all those who indulge in crime against woman and children face the whole process of law,” the Chief Minister said and added that the Government has decided to have a legislation for setting up of special courts to try such cases. A’chik Youth Council and CSWO condemned the incident.
