SHILLONG: The Greater Laban Community Development Society organised a programme on Saturday where 151 field workers of the Shillong Municipal Board and the Shillong Cantonment Board were felicitated under the ‘Novel Service Award’ 2016 in recognition of their sincere and dedicated services rendered by them towards the welfare of general public.
The winners were awarded for successfully monitoring and implementing civic sanitation and hygiene.
Chief guest Sanbor Shullai, who is the president of the Society, announced that all awardees would get the facility of fixed deposits under social services scheme.
Besides, the awardees were presented with certificates, citations, gift hampers and household materials.
Those who attended the function were the representatives of various NGOs, leaders and elders of various localities of 19th South Shillong Constituency.
