Threat
Dr. Mamta Goswami lodged a complaint that on September 18 around 9.42 PM, she received an anonymous phone call, wherein the caller threatened her and her daughter with dire consequences at 11th Battalion BSF, Mawpat, Shillong.
Dowry
Sukla Sinha of Lower New Colony, Laitumkhrah, Shillong lodged a complaint that on June 10, 2016, she was married to one Rajib Sinha and settled at Pune, Maharashtra. Since then, her husband is torturing her physically and mentally and demanded dowry and a vehicle from her parents and also threatened her with dire consequences. However, her parents managed to give him Rs. 25,000. Police said that the matter is being investigated.
Rape attempt
A woman lodged a complaint that on September 21 around 8.30 PM, one Bipul Koch attempted to rape her at her residence at Bekarduba, Haldibari. However, residents rescued her and apprehended the accused. Following this incident, a public meeting was convened wherein the accused agreed to settle the matter by marrying the complainant. However, the accused fled the next morning.
On September 29 around 11 AM, one Kraston Kharduit allegedly outraged the modesty of a 23-year-old girl at Madan Saisiej Mawkynriang in East Khasi Hills.
Heroin seized
Police said that on September 28 around 4 PM, one Marious Lyngdoh (33) from Lumshyiap, Shillong was arrested and recovered 12 grams of suspected Heroin from his possession. Later, Police admitted him at CH Shillong for treatment.
One found unconscious
On September 30 around 6.30 AM, one Dilip Thakuri (35 yrs) was found lying unconscious at Madanrting Shillong and was shifted to CH Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
Assault
On September 29 around 9 AM, one Ratan Biswas slapped his 25-year-old wife in their residence at Kynjat Football, Lumparing, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong treatment. Matter is under enquiry.
Theft
Yoomitre Kharduit lodged a complaint that on September 29 around 7 PM, one Ravi Shankar Ojha (23 yrs) broke into his residence at Nongrimmaw, Laitumkhrah, Shillong with an intention to commit burglary.
Accident
On September 29, one unknown vehicle knocked down one six-year-old boy namely, Rashel Sohtun at Umpling, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Nongrim Hills, Shillong.
On September 29 evening, one scooty (number not known) knocked down Benasius Mawrie (93 yrs) at Pohkseh, Shillong. The victim was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Nongrim Hills, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
