BSF seizes sarees worth Rs 35 lakh

SHILLONG: As many as 979 sarees and more than 3944 meters of cloth worth approx Rs.35 lakh were seized by BSF at Umsyiem in East Khasi Hills while they were being smuggled to Bangladesh.
In another case, the BSF troops seized 13 cattle from the bordering areas of Beldova and Balughat in South West Garo Hills Distt and Lynghat in East Khasi Hills. Two days back, 40 cattle were also seized in the same area.
It may be mentioned that the BSF have seized 312 cattle worth over Rs. 33 lakhs last month from the border.
