Calls out to masses to maintain cleanliness

SHILLONG: As part of its Diamond Jubilee Celebration, Rilbong Sports and Cultural Club organized a cultural programme under the theme ‘Dances of India’ as a tribute to the nation’s armed forces at Rilbong here on Thursday.
Speaking as Chief Guest on the occasion, Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya Dinesh Maheshwari said, “We are Indians, no other identity is needed at all. Our mother is our nation. We are born in a free country and it is the duty of the people to take the freedom forward to carry ahead the purpose for which we were set free.”
He added that the frontiers of the country are safe due to the presence of valiant soldiers who protect the nation and whoever comes to disturb the peace does so at his own peril.
Justice Maheshwari also urged the people gathered at the function to keep the city clean and bring about a progressive state. Speaking about the programme—”Dances of India”— he said, “Any emotion can be presented through the art of dancing and North East is rich in cultural dance.”
