SHILLONG: The State Government on Thursday asked the departments that intend to build a new structure or flood bank or any other permanent or temporary construction, including scaffolding, to abide by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Electric Supply and Safety regulation to avoid electrocution cases.
The government in a statement said that a scale drawing of the proposed work should be submitted to  MeECL or the authorities concerned.
The decision comes in the wake of accidents due to overhead wires.
The supplier or owner of the electrical line should examine the compliance of the referred electric line.
