SHILLONG: An altercation broke out at the puja pandal in Oakland over a BJP banner on Saturday disrupting celebrations for a short while.
The incident occurred around 9pm on Saturday when a person displayed a BJP banner with puja greetings written on it.
A Central Puja Committee functionary said it is the call of the respective puja committees to decide whether such banners of political parties should be displayed.
The matter was, however, resolved amicably. The functionaries of Oakland puja committee said it was a minor issue and added that it was not serious.
