City resident hands over recovered valuables to police

SHILLONG: A resident of Jail Road on Thursday handed over to police gold ornaments and cash worth over Rs 1.5 lakh that was found in his compound.
The resident Swapan Paul handed over the valuables to the personnel at Sadar police station. The items and cash were reportedly left in his compound on the intervening night of October 12-13.  Sadar police informed that the items and cash were stolen and even an FIR was filed in this connection by one Manik Paul of Jail Road. Meanwhile, police have arrested one Dilip Nath who is suspected to be involved in the theft of the gold and cash.
