Primary teachers announce stir on October 17

TURA: The All Garo Hills Primary School Teachers’ Association (AGHPSTA) has announced a sit-in demonstration in front of the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner’s office on October 17 in view of the alleged failure of the government to respond to its demands.
Earlier, the teachers had served an ultimatum of 15 days to the government demanding that teachers appointed by the Government of Meghalaya are no longer categorized as Government and non-Government teachers, teachers appointed since 1995 are regularized as well as to revoke the transfer of 16 teachers.
