Cop’s mobile phone stolen
Police on Thursday apprehended one Paplu Pal for stealing a cell phone belonging to Absi P. Shangpliang of SF-10, while he was on duty at Oakland, on October 11. The miscreant was later apprehended at Police Bazar, and the stolen cell-phone was recovered from his possession.
Two held for creating trouble  
On October 5, police detected and arrested two persons, Rakujisho Mao (25), and an 18-year-old boy for creating trouble at Dhankheti under the influence of alcohol.
Man rapes step-daughter
On October 9, one Charles Tympuin reportedly raped his step-daughter at Pyndenglawar village in West Khasi Hills and threatened her with dire consequences.
Four injured
On October 11 around 4 pm, one Maruti Eeco (ML-05J-3049) driven by Panto Ch Roy (56) capsized at 101 Area, Upper Shillong. As a result, four occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital.
Employee flees after theft
One Rana Paul lodged a complaint that on October 10, his employee Proshenjeet Dev Nath stole cash from his shop at Iewduh and fled away.
Phone stolen from puja pandal
On October 9 around 6 am, unknown miscreants stole one cell-phone belonging to one Bikash Chettri from a Puja pandal at Polo.
Motorcycle thefts
On October 8 at about 12.30 am, miscreants stole one motorcycle (AS-17G-1630) belonging to Md. Muminur Sarkar from Najing Bazar, Tura (WGH).
Earlier on October 4 at around 1 pm, miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08B-6731) belonging to one  Bokul Ch Sangma from Garobadha (WGH).
Truck stolen
It was reported that between October 8 and 9,  miscreants stole one truck (AS-01FC-0515) from Thangshalai (EKH).
