SHILLONG: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) will field Pyndapbor Lyngdoh Marshillong from Mawthadraishan constituency in the upcoming district council election in December.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, KHNAM working president Adelbert Nongrum said that he was hopeful Marshillong will win the seat for the party. He added that “there is still time for other candidates to come forward to contest for the party”.
Marshillong, an HSPDP worker during the days of late HS Lyngdoh, left the party citing dissatisfaction over the way of functioning of the current crop of HSPDP leaders.
“I chose to contest from KHNAM as it has served the interests of the people well,” Marshillong said.
