Mawryngkneng HS School celebrates golden jubilee

SHILLONG: Mawryngkneng Higher Secondary School celebrated its Golden Jubilee on the school premises on Thursday. Chief Minister Mukul M Sangma graced the event as the chief guest while local legislator David A Nongrum was the guest of honour.
Sangma hailed the educational services rendered by the school and added that the milestone, the school has achieved, reassures the fact that the best schools are those which run by the community.  Sangma also unveiled the Golden Jubilee Monument and released the Golden Jubilee souvenir.
The school came into existence on February 5, 1966 and was later upgraded to the higher secondary level with a strength of 783 students.
Among others present at the function were Sohryngkham MDC Pyniaid Sing Syiem, Banshanlang Lawai, secretary, school managing committee, besides others.
