SHILLONG: The Meghalaya International Exporters’ Chamber of Commerce is unhappy over the different yardsticks being adopted for the export of limestones and boulder stones. The association has decided to meet the concerned authorities in this regard on Thursday.
“We welcome the setting up of Sohkha weighbridge for weighing lime stones from Nongtalang , but we want to know why only lime stones from Nngtalang are weighted, and not the boulder stones from Pynursla”, the exporters’ body said.
According to them, the state government should implement the same order to Pynursla too as it is the same border and there are the same buyers across the border.
Annoyed over the discrepancies, the members of the exporters’ body have decided to meet the authorities in Shillong.
