National Blood Donation Day
The State Blood Transfusion Council and Meghalaya AIDS Control Society in collaboration with licensed blood banks will organise a state-level observation of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day on October 27 at Conference Hall, Pasteur Institute from 10:00 am.

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills has directed all fair price shop dealers of the district to display the name of the approved fair price shop dealer and centre of operation on a notice board in their shops and also to clearly indicate the rates of all essential commodities to be distributed during the month. They are also required to display the availability of stock on the board.

For the purpose of the conduct of the bye-elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council, the Government of Meghalaya has delegated the powers and duties to the Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, SDOs (Sadar) and Extra Assistant Commissioners of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills and Sub-Divisional Officers (Civil), Extra Assistant Commissioner, Mairang. This was informed by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, District Council Affairs Department.

Medical test
Candidates who have appeared in the written examination for the post of drivers, guardsmen and equivalent ranks under Civil Defence and Home Guards Department on October 20 have been directed to report to the office of the District Home Guards Commandant, Araimile, Tura and to the Civil Defence and Home Guards Complex, Mawdiangdiang on November 9 at 10am for medical examination.
