SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has assured Malaria Programme Workers (MPWs) that they will be engaged in different branches of the health department as per their technical experience.
This was informed by Jetwin Lyngdoh, president of All Meghalaya Malaria Programme Workers Association (AMMPWA) on Thursday.
“He assured us that ways and means will be found to utilise our services in the Health department as per our technical expertise but the Chief Minister did not fix a timeline for the same yet as he will have to discuss other issues with his officers before that,” Lyngdoh said. The malaria workers had earlier slammed the State government for failing to conform to the Centre’s directive to absorb such workers.
