Cultural prog
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Regional Office, Shillong is organising a cultural programme on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on November 11 at 4:30pm at the NEHU Old Guest House Auditorium.
Road inauguration
19th South Shillong Constituency MLA, Sanbor Shullai inaugurated the motorable road at Mynsain, Lower Lumparing. Shullai also recommended Rs. 2,000,00/- under the SUWP Scheme towards the initiative.
General meeting
The Meghalaya Pensioner’s Association will hold its 36th general meeting on November 15 at 11am at the Seminar Hall, State Central Library.
Excise raids
The Excise Staff of East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the outskirts of town and on September, the staff detected 23 cases with a seizure of 87.755 liters of i/d liquor and 37.770 liters IMFL. Twenty persons were arrested under the Excise Act in this connection.
Tournament
The 44th Meghalaya Bridge Association will organise the Meghalaya State Bridge Championship on November 12-13.
Conference
The Shillong Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (SOGS) will host the 27th North East Obstetrics and Gynaecological Societies Annual Conference (NEOGSCON), 2016 at State Convention Centre, Shillong from November 11-13. The inaugural function will start at 6.00PM on November 11, where Minister for School Education and Literacy, Deborah C. Marak will be the chief guest.
World Diabetes Day
Bansara Eye Care Centre in collaboration with Society for Promotion of Eye Care and Sight and World Diabetes Foundation, Denmark, will observe the World Diabetes Day on November 14. A Global Diabetes Walk will also be held on the day at 7:00am. The route for the walk will be as follows: Fire Brigade Ground– St. Edmund’s College-Dhankheti – Cathedral– Don Bosco Square – Laitumkhrah Police Point–Laitumkhrah Presbyterian Church and will culminate at Fire Brigade Ground.
Awareness prog
PHD Chamber, NER Guwahati in support of National Centre for Cold-Chain Development (NCCD) and Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare jointly organised an outreach awareness program on ‘cold-chain development’ on November 10 at Shillong Club, Kachari Road.
National Lok Adalat
The District Council Court, Khasi Hills in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority will organise the National Lok Adalat at the office of the District Council Court, Garikhana on November 12 from 10 am.
