TURA: The A’chik Bading Chiwalgiparangni Dol (ABCD) has urged GHADC to strictly check illegal non tribal hawkers and vendors who are doing business in daily and weekly markets of Garo Hills. In their complaint to the Chief Executive Member, the ABCD urged the official to direct his officers to take strict action against those who do not have TNT licenses and not merely let them off after taking fines. The association raised concern that the markets of Garo Hills would be flooded with non-tribal businessmen if such strict measures were not taken soon. Meanwhile, new office bearers to lead the ABCD were also elected recently. The association elected Wilver D Marak as president, Rudolph R Sangma and Tripulla M Marak as vice presidents, Manjit M Sangma as general secretary, Florence Ch Marak as joint secretary besides other members.
