SHILLONG: Altogether 668 villages have been given electricity in Meghalaya so far under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY), a press release stated.
It may be mentioned that there were altogether 912 villages in Meghalaya that were not electrified.
It was revealed that 244 more villages in the state are yet to be electrified under the scheme.
As per the Garv Dashboard, a government website, the electrification of 192 villages in the state by the DDUGJY is under progress.
As per the website, there are 104 villages in East Garo Hills which are yet to be electrified. The West Khasi Hills on the other hand have166 villagesthat have been electrified under the scheme.
