Bike smuggling foiled by BSF

SHILLONG: The BSF apprehended a person with a motorcycle meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh. The BSF troops deployed at Baghmara, South Garo Hills district, apprehended the  person identified as  Battle M. Sangama moving in suspicious manner with a Hero Splender bike.
Sangma hailing from  Baghmara, confessed that he was trying to smuggle the  bike to Bangladesh. According to BSF, smugglers after stealing bikes from Indian territory smuggle them to Bangladesh. The bike engines are also used to improvise local boats for various purposes.
In another incident, the BSF troops deployed at Silkigiri, South Garo Hills apprehended two Indian nationals Rakne Th. Marak and Tilsan Momin from Silkigri, South Garo Hills.
One country made gun and camouflage clothes were also recovered from their possession.
Besides, cattle, wooden logs, liquor bottles, bamboo, wooden boats and other contraband items worth more than Rs 23.5 lakh were also seized in the past two weeks.
